Our web design process helps us build better websites for you!
At PixoLabo, we have streamlined our custom web design process to be mobile-first, focusing on responsive design from every project’s initial stages.
Here is an outline and explanation of the steps we take when approaching a new web or e-commerce design project.
We often include a brief outline of what will be involved in building a new website on our project estimates. This brief helps our clients prepare and gives them an idea of how much time they will need for each phase.
Below we have included an expanded version of this process, but a lot more general and simplified. This example guide will help you better understand our custom web design process.
However, the web design process for your project may differ in some ways, given its unique nature. With this in mind, it is always worth asking your web designer how each phase of your specific web design project will work.
We analyze client goals, define the target audience and gather as much relevant information as possible. We then provide a concise project summary that isn’t overly technical and a sitemap to reference throughout the project. Lastly, we provide the timeline, payment terms, and contracts that define roles, copyright, and financial points.
We perform all our WordPress design and development work on our internal staging servers. As the layout of the site takes shape, we add design elements and functionality. Our process allows for client review and approval, and once they’re satisfied, we’ll start the final build. This process reduces development times and related development costs.
We develop on the WordPress CMS framework and implement code templates for each page type. This step allows us to build and test features and interactivity to launch sites in less time. We then fill pages with content, test and verify links and their functionality. Lastly, we perform a complete website review and walk through every page we’ve created to make sure we haven’t missed anything visually or functionally.
We make any required last-minute changes so that we’re just as proud of the website as you are. Next, we move the site to either our hosting provider or yours. Then we run a final test and check that the site works on multiple browsers and is entirely mobile-first.
All our WordPress design projects include a follow-up support period of 30 to 90 days. We work out any potential glitches and ensure all aspects of your new online presence are functioning as intended. At the end of the support period, we will complete a complete website review to make sure your new site meets your requirements and objectives.
Once your site is live, it will require ongoing updates and support to ensure it continues to support your business objectives. We provide a full range of maintenance and support services, including regular WordPress theme and plugin updates, website backups, and security scans. This service allows you to focus on your business instead of your website.
For us, building your website is only the beginning. We want you to get the most out of your online presence. If you’re going to grow your website and audience, we are here to help. We ensure you stand out from your online competitors by adding new functionality and content, page speed improvements, and search engine optimization.
